About O'Hare Airport:
Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is located in Illinois, only 17 miles from the Chicago Loop area. O'Hare is the second busiest airport in terms of flight traffic, and third busiest in the world taking into account passenger traffic. Over 66 million passengers pass through this airport each year, heading to over 60 international destinations and hundreds of domestic ones.

There are several ways to reach the Chicago O'Hare airport. Buses, taxis, the "L" train, and shuttles are all available to and from the airport. A "Kiss and Fly" area exists to avoid the traffic and parking problems associated with dropping off or picking up friends and relatives. Chicago O'Hare received Global Traveler Award for "Best North American Airport" in 2009--for the tenth consecutive year.

The Chicago O'Hare International Airport was constructed in 1942-1943, and named after Edward O'Hare, who was both a Medal of Honor recipient in World War II and the U.S. Navy's first flying ace. While the airport has been used for military purposes at times, today it functions only for freight and passenger traffic. There are four terminals, numbered 1,2,3 and 5. There are nine lettered concourses, and 182 aircraft gates throughout the airport. Pedestrian tunnels and shuttles transport passengers on connecting flights who need to travel between terminals.

There are several restaurants both before and after security in each of the terminals for those who would like a quick meal while waiting for their departures. Currency exchanges, ATM's, children's play areas, charging stations, and even a post office and chapel are some of the amenities provided within the airport. There are plentiful toilets located in every terminal, as well as assisted care facilities for those who require them.
